This bracelet takes the basic technique from
a charm bracelet. I love charm bracelets, they’re so easy and can
look like they took forever to make! For this piece, notice pink gold
and black silver are used, this is quickly becoming my favorite combination.
Step 1: The
Basic Chain.
The basic chain here consists of the following:
1 Black Toggle Ring,
5 links of the tribal Oval Chain
1 Black Silver Hammered Ring under a White Silver Halo Ring
5 links of the Tribal Oval Chain
1 Black Silver Hammered Ring
5 links of the Tribal Oval Chain
4 Black Silver Jump Rings
1 Black Toggle Bar
Step 2: Dressing
it Up
Now it’s time to add charms. There are charms on every link of the
chain. I’ll put them in point-form so you can easily follow along:
(number 1 is the first link, 2 is the second and so on).
- 2 Leaves (put them at the back of the link)
- 1 Black Rose charm
- 2 Leaves (back of the link)
- 1 Black Rose charm, 1 Pink Vermeil Rose (20mm)
- 2 Leaves (back of the link)
- 1 Black Rose charm on the White Halo Ring
(in front),
1 Leaf on the Black Hammered Ring (in back)
- 2 Leaves (back of the link)
- Separately, put 1 Black Rose charm and 1 Leaf
together with 1 Black Silver Jump Ring, add 1 more Black Silver Jump
Ring and attach that to link 8;
1 Black Silver Wire Flower Charm
- 2 Leaves (back of the link)
- 1 Pink Gold Vermeil Rose (10mm)
1 Black Rose Charm
- 2 Leaves (back of the link)
- Separately, put 2 Black Rose charms together
with 1 Black Silver Jump Ring, add 1 more Black Silver Jump Ring and
attach that to link 12 (the Black Hammered Ring).
- 2 Leaves (back of the link)
- 1 Pink Gold Vermeil Rose (20mm)
- 2 Leaves (back of the link)
- 1 Black Silver Wire Flower Charm
- 2 Leaves (back of the link)
Step 3: Turning
over Leaves
The bracelet is basically finished, but if you jingle it a bit, you’ll
notice that the leaves between the flowers usually fold on top of one
another. What you’re going to do in step 3 is give each leaf a little
twist so they’re not so attached to their counterparts.
At every link containing two leaves, take a pair
of pliers (preferably thin ones) and hold the hoop of the first leaf.
With your thumb and forefinger, slowly and gently twist the leaf to the
left about 90 degrees. Do the same with the second leaf, but gently twist
it to the right. When you lay down the bracelet, the two leaves should
face away from each other.
Do this for all the other pairs of leaves in the
bracelet (you don’t need to twist leaves that are with other charms
unless you want to).
Tips:
Black silver of ‘Charred Silver’ is easy to take care of and
are always fun to use. Treat them exactly as you would treat vermeil pieces.
You don’t need to be too gentle, just don’t abuse them and
they’ll stick around for a long time.
